Membership Agreement
I accept membership into the Mining Sustainability Summit (“MSS” or the “Summit”). I understand and agree to the following:
The Summit is a forum for leaders within the extractives industry to collaborate and share insights, learnings, ongoing challenges and opportunities.
The Summit is held in accordance with the principles of the Chatham House Rules where discussions remain confidential between the members of the Summit. Participation is focused on increasing the effectiveness and acceptance of ESG/sustainability within the extractives sector.
The overall goal of the Summit is to create a strong network of industry professionals through a unique sharing of experiences, best practices, and mutual support by providing practical strategic and operational-level solutions to mining sustainability issues. Members of the Summit have the common goal of striving to improve and elevate the mining industry’s reputation, through ESG in particular.
Membership is by invitation only, and subject to the following conditions:
- All members are required to sign this Membership Agreement, as well as the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- Membership is strictly individual. The Membership Agreement and the Non-Disclosure Agreement are binding on the individual only, and are not considered to cover the corporation or employer of that individual.
- All information provided by a member is strictly confidential and for the sole use of the membership. Member information cannot be shared externally without the approval of the member concerned.
- Members must immediately inform the CEO of SOOP Strategies Inc. (the host of the Summit), namely Sabrina Dias, of any potential conflict of interest, and should recuse themselves from any discussion or meeting if such a conflict occurs.
- Membership is for a period of one year (April 1 – March 31) with the option to renew annually.
- The membership fee covers the period of April 1 to March 31 of the following year.
- Membership includes two meetings per membership year: one in-person meeting in March; one virtual meeting in the fall.
- Travel expenses to the in-person March meeting are assumed by each member.
- Membership may be revoked by SOOP Strategies Inc. if the member is in contravention of the conditions of the membership, of if the member’s conduct is considered inappropriate.
