Carole Burnham, PEng, PhD
Advisor for Climate Change
Carole Burnham has significantly contributed to the climate change and greenhouse gas emissions considerations (i.e. reductions, management and credit opportunities) for various government ministries and private sector organizations over her 40 year career. Carole’s experience in sustainable development and environmental policy and planning includes a senior consultant role to Inco and Vale on Environment, Health and Safety strategy development.
Jacques Gérin, Advisor PEng

Jacques Gérin, a civil engineer with a master’s degree in Regional Planning, has been a manager and an advisor in the fields of natural resources management, economic development and the environment in both the public and private sectors, in Canada and internationally. Formerly with the Government of Canada, Jacques was Vice President of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Secretary to the Cabinet Committee on Priorities & Planning, Deputy Minister of Environment Canada, and Associate Deputy Minister of Northern Development. He is a former President of Hatch-Québec and was responsible for Environment for the Hatch group of companies.
Jim Mallory, Advisor

Jim Mallory is an accomplished professional with more than 40 years in the mining industry. He’s held senior management positions in both operations and sustainable development disciplines for exploration, mid-tier and large-scale mining operations, most recently defining Corporate Responsibility strategies and ESG standards for Sustainable Development. Jim enjoyed a 29 year career with Placer Dome that included more than 13 years of service in Chile, later moving on to support Nova Gold, Silver Standard, Primero Mining and other corporations implementing corporate responsibility strategies for operations in Canada, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, and Mexico.
Don Ritz, Advisor

Don Ritz is a leader in corporate loss mitigation and risk management through the creation and implementation of environment, health and safety policies and programs in the petroleum, mining and construction sectors. Don was Senior Vice President, Safety and Leadership at Barrick Gold Corporation where the developed the Courageous Leadership for Safety and Health, and the company’s leadership development program – Touchstone. Prior to Barrick, Don enjoyed a successful career with Syncrude that spanned over 28 years in various managerial and senior management roles.
