Our best asset is amazing people.

Sabrina Dias, MES, PEng
Founder and CEO
I founded SOOP Strategies because I wanted to create an environment where we can work in a culture of kindness while helping our clients achieve their business goals and being sustainable. I wanted to create a space where we have the agility to solve our Clients’ problems and take action, especially when external pressures change and their needs evolve. And I believe that this agility is a key offering for our clients. I am so proud of the SOOP Team, built from long term relationships with clients and colleagues over my career. We share a common vision of mining as a vehicle for sustainable development, and a very special corporate culture to realize this vision.

What drives me is finding solutions to problems. Having spent the majority of my career designing and building mines and processing plants, I realized that the greatest challenge is not how to build a bigger, better mine, but how to build it in a way that solves more problems than it creates. I believe that in order for an industry to grow and be respected, we must understand the concept of shared value and strive for net positive impact. My goal is to help clients find solutions to providing resources in responsible and thoughtful ways that truly enable sustainable development of communities and societies, while supporting the environment to regenerate and thrive. We all share this beautiful planet and its resources, and therefore we all share the benefits and responsibilities that come with its development.

Kyle Krater, MBA
Senior Associate, Sustainable Development
My passion for sustainability and the natural environment has been lifelong. Surrounded by mountains and wilderness, I grew up at the foot of Grand Teton National Park and the southern entrance of Yellowstone. My place-based education taught me about the delicate balance that is needed to maintain stability in any complex system, be it environmental, social or economic. Mining make modern life possible. As both a mining and sustainability advocate, I seek to help my clients achieve economic success, improve social development and act as responsible stewards for the natural environment.

Sustainability was always a part of my life, growing up in a small town in the countryside, with two environmentally-conscious parents. in 2017, After +12 years in the security world, I came to the realization that my work in security has been important, however not meaningful. That is when I decided to marry my passion for business and strategy with the desire to have a positive impact on communities and environments. I am driven by my desire to provide my children with a better future, and teaching them that it our responsibility to make sure this result is achievable.

Norma Vazquez, MA
Associate, Stakeholder Engagement
The more immersed I got into mining, the more communities I had the opportunity to see, taste their flavours, smell their aromas and understand their needs, the more passionate I grew about what stakeholder engagement means. I had the opportunity to work with peoples in the highlands of Argentina, the Peruvian Andean region and my beloved Mexico and I learned and understood the diverse cultural nuances of each community even inside the same country. So many similarities and such subtle, yet important, differences. I worked every day to build trustful, solid relationships that will help my client to have the privilege to operate and diminish operational risks for their project.
